Join us in celebrating the freedom to read by stopping by our Banned Book Week display. Have your picture taken with your favorite banned or challenged book, and then enter our drawing to win a mug with disappearing (censored?) words!

Each year during the last week of September, bookish types like librarians, booksellers, teachers, and all of you who cherish reading join together to express appreciation for having the freedom to read whatever we find useful and enjoyable. At BCL, we value and support everyone’s right to seek and express ideas, even those some might consider a little bit quirky. Have you read a banned or challenged book? (Hint: If you’ve read Harry Potter or To Kill a Mockingbird, you can answer “yes.”)
