Kick-Off Celebration for our NEW 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Monday, September 26 @ 7:00-7:30 pm
Join Mr. Patrick and Miss Vickey for a fun-filled Family Storytime! Help us celebrate as we kick-off our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. We are partnering with the Friends of the Basehor Library to provide this free program for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. 1,000 Books B4K is a family challenge that encourages reading skills before your little one starts
kindergarten. Incentives for parents and children will be provided along the way. Registration begins in September
We also have two people joining us for our Family Story Time to provide parents with more information:
• Anne Foote, author of “Six Skills by Age Six: Launching Early Literacy at the Library” and
Youth Services Coordinator for Northeast Kansas Library System. Anna has great suggestions
for parents about the six skills children should learn by age six.
• Becky Peters, Parents as Teachers Coordinator. Becky has information for parents of children
from birth to 3 years.
So mark your calendars for Monday, September 26th at 7:00-7:30 pm and join the fun!

Next meeting on September 28th, 2016 at 10:00am

Storytime for 2-3 year-old is so much fun!  We read great books, learn finger plays, sing songs and dance. We also will work on these early literacy skills: vocabulary development, shape recognition, rhyming and word play. We now have TWO storytimes for 2-3 year-olds on Wednesdays, 10am and 11am.  Come join us!
