How do I…place a hold?

Can’t find something on our shelves? You can place a hold on any copy in our NExpress system and the item will be delivered to our library with your name on it. Get in line for the most popular books and movies. There are over one million items available through NExpress!

Here’s how to place a hold:

You will need to login to your account to place a hold. It’s best to sign in to your account first – just click on the My Account in the upper right-hand corner of our homepage,



When you login, you’ll be ask to sign in with your 13 digit library card number and password (which is your 4 digit pin number).

To find the item you want to place on hold, type the title or author in the search the catalog. If you want the dvd, type dvd after the title of the movie. Then click Place hold (if you haven’t signed in, a box will pop up asking for your information. You’ll have to restart the search once you sign in.)


You can place several items on a single page on hold at once by checking the box next to the titles and clicking Place hold at the top of the page.

Verify your pick-up location (you can choose to pick up items at other libraries in NExpress if it’s more convenient for you). Click Place hold again.
