Electronics Recycling and Paper Shredding

May 9 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

If you’ve been spending your time in quarantine spring cleaning, you may have piles of stuff you’re ready to get rid of. We can help! Dispose of your unwanted electronics (anything that plugs in or runs on batteries) with safe, environmentally responsible recycling. This includes used batteries and old cell phones, too! All items are free, except for a $35 fee for any size television and $25 fee for any size CRT monitor. Concerned about the data on your old computer? Secure E-Cycle is Kansas City’s #1 company for data destruction and e-waste recycling and uses data destruction methods approved by the Department of Defense. For more information, visit secureecycle.com.

This year, we’ve added paper shredding services to our event. You can bring us your personal and business documents and they will be shredded for free! Items won’t be shredded on site, but will be taken to the Proshred plant to be crosscut shredded, baled, and sent to a recycler that turns the shredded material back into paper towels and toilet paper. Paper clips, staples, binder clips, and rubber bands do not need to be removed, but all documents must be removed from 3-ring binders and spiral notebooks.
