Use hoopla?

Categorized under: How do I...?.

Thanks to special funding from the Northeast Kansas Library System (NEKLS), patrons can download the free Hoopla™ digital mobile app on their Android or iOS device, or visit to begin enjoying thousands of titles – from major Hollywood studios, music distributors and publishers – available to borrow for instant streaming to their computers or temporary downloading to their smartphones and tablets.

Here’s how it works:

To access the system on a mobile device, download the free hoopla digital app from the App Store on an Android or iOS device. Or, simply select ‘Sign Up’ from on your computer to get started. Use your library card to set up an account. It’s EASY!

You’ll be able to borrow up to eight hoopla selections per month on your library account.

Movies and television shows are available on your device for three days; music albums are available for seven days, and audiobooks are available 21 days.

There’s also no waiting to borrow movies, TV shows, albums or audiobooks – even if someone else has it checked out, it’s still available to you.

To listen or view an item away from an Internet connection, borrow it through the Hoopla app from your device’s App Store. Then, download it. Find the download button on the title screen after you’ve borrowed it (scroll down past the plot summary, reviews, etc. until you find a little cloud with an arrow pointing down). Click that, and then it will be on your device.
